Funding Opportunities for OLISSA Members

Listed below are opportunities available to OLISSA members for scholarships, awards, and conference funding. Watch the OLISSA ListServ for up-to-date information and reminders.


OU School of Library and Infomation Studies Resources

The School of Library and Information Studies offers between 10-15 scholarships each year. Visit the SLIS Scholarship page for application forms as well as information on scholarship requirements. Scholarship applications are due on March 1.

Graduate Assistantships are also available on a competitive basis. Visit the SLIS Graduate Assistants page for application forms as well as additional information. Applications are due on March 1 for the fall semester.

Additionally, an Annual Student Paper Competition is sponsored by the SLIS Alumni Association.

Professional Organization Resources

Members of the American Library Association may apply for American Library Association Scholarships.

Members of the Oklahoma Library Association may apply for the OLA Scholarship for Graduate Study.

The Art Libraries Society of North America offers the Gerd Muehsam Award.

The Association of Research Libraries Initiative to Recruit a Diverse Workforce offers stipends to attract students from underrepresented groups to careers in academic and research libraries.
