OLISSA's Purpose

OLISSA is the student organization for the School of Library and Information Studies at the University of Oklahoma. All students enrolled in the SLIS courses are members of the organization.

OLISSA's mission is to bring library students together with one another, faculty, and library and knowledge management professionals. We provide students with an opportunity to be active participants in the SLIS program and University of Oklahoma Student Association. The organization's primary purpose is to represent and serve the SLIS student body. Officers are either elected or volunteer to serve each Spring. They serve as liaisons between the SLIS students and faculty.

OLISSA is an American Library Association Student Chapter at the School of Library and Information Studies and a recognized student organization at the University of Oklahoma. As such, OLISSA receives a budget through UOSA. We use these funds for such events as:

We welcome contributions from all OLISSA members to help keep our site up-to-date and informative for all OU SLIS students. If you have questions or comments regarding this website, please contact us.
